On-demand support is reactive help for organizations that do not have a monitoring contract with Unicorn1. We respond when you contact us about a problem, outage, planned task, or project.
Something stops working: internet is down, a server is unreachable, Wi-Fi is unreliable, cameras are offline, backups are failing, or a vendor says the network is the problem. If there is no active support contract, we are not already monitoring the environment or receiving alerts from those systems.
In that case, support begins when you contact us. We gather the symptoms, confirm access, review what information is available, and schedule the work as capacity allows.
What Is Included
Troubleshooting reported issues after we are contacted.
Scheduled project work, repair work, configuration changes, and site visits when needed.
Practical recommendations based on what we find during the engagement.
Documentation of useful findings when the work reveals repeat risks or weak points.
What Is Not Included
24/7 monitoring or alerting by Unicorn1.
Proactive review of system health between service calls.
Reserved response capacity or top scheduling priority.
Ongoing familiarity with changes made by staff, vendors, or other providers between visits.
How On-Demand Requests Are Handled
1. You Report The Issue
Tell us what is happening, when it started, what changed recently, and what systems or users are affected.
2. We Triage The Request
We look at urgency, access requirements, site location, expected impact, and current contracted support obligations.
3. We Schedule As Workload Permits
On-demand work is scheduled after contracted monitoring and support commitments. Emergency work may carry a higher rate.
4. We Work The Problem
We verify the physical layer, configuration, traffic path, logs, vendor claims, and operational impact before recommending a fix.
When A Contract Makes More Sense
If the same systems are business-critical, repeatedly need attention, or should be watched before users notice a problem, contracted monitoring and proactive response is usually the better fit.
A contract adds 24/7 monitoring, alerting, environment familiarity, reserved support capacity, and top scheduling priority for covered support needs.
